Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to define, differentiate and recognize mania and hypomania in a patient presenting with mood symptoms. They will acquire knowledge in pathophysiology and course of illness. Participants will also acquire knowledge in screening for, of the diagnostic criteria and in assessing severity of mania and hypomania. Furthermore, the learner will acquire necessary knowledge in creating a differential diagnosis, in managing a patient with mania or hypomania and in following up.
