In this module, we will provide a comprehensive overview of an approach to a patient with dysmenorrhea. Crucial questions to ask in history, including complete menstruation history and date of last menstrual period, will be reviewed, as will key physical findings, such as cervical abnormalities on speculum exam and irregular, bulky uterus on bimanual exam. Lastly, you will gain an understanding about the management of primary dysmenorrhea and the approach and management of some common causes of secondary dysmenorrhea, such as endometriosis and adenomyosis.
