Objectives

This module will outline how to appropriately diagnose psychosis based on approved assessment tools such as a the Mental Status Examination (MSE), and to effectively rule out possible causes so that a narrow list of differential diagnoses can be drawn up. By completing this module, you will acquire a solid understanding of investigative techniques used to determine the cause of psychosis in your patient in addition to learning the multi-factorial management plan necessary to treat patients with psychosis. Pharmacotherapy as well as biopsychosocial approaches will be emphasized.
